any of you guys use, restore or collect black iron?

been thru the collect phase and have too much
was a good market in internet sales but shipping costs have killed that

now I use my favorites and give away some when I think it will be used
hooked up a scout troupe not long ago

thought some on here might do some camp cooking or use them

We have about 20 iron skillets of different sizes passed down from other family. They are great to cook with.

Use them all the time. I have some 'newer' ones that I have purchased in the last 10 years or so. And I have other ones that have been in the family for decades.

Huge fan of them for certain things.

Ive got a big one I use for just about everything, and one if those corn bread tins. Everything just tastes better out of cast iron

It ain’t cornbread unless it’s made in a cast iron skillet

Pity. Cast iron makes the best fried bacon in the world.

Too cold to grill a steak outside? Cast iron has you covered again imo...

We have a lot of cast iron for cooking. I love using the Dutch Ovens, you can cook anything in them.

Those are great but I like my DO lids to have the ridge to hold the charcoal on the edges. Lodge is absolutely the best.

I used my 12" lodge skillet this morning to cook some sausage and fry my eggs . That and steaks from time to time are the only times I really use it, and it probably needs a good seasoning.

If I go ahead and pick up that stainless steel set in my other thread, I'm not sure how much use the cast iron will get afterwards.

It's never too cold to grill outside, however I have one 12" cast iron skillet and I'll be using it later today to sear a nice little NY Strip steak that is laying on a cutting board in my fridge.

I bought my first cast iron skillet in 2016 and now I have pretty much anything you can think of except the corn bread and eggs skillets by Lodge.

They are a bitch to clean but the cast iron muffin pans are great for cornbread.
