I have literally zero confidence that Huston Street can save a game against this Cards team. In fact, I'm convinced he'll blow it.

I would have bet a million dollars after the walk and with Beltran coming up that Cool Hand Luke would have been brought in.

Huston Street will blow this game. Call Vegas and put everything you got on it.

so here are the things I thought I would not see in this road trip ... Volquez picks up the win and Huston Street the save ... the Padres have a slim chance to win a series from the Cards with Stults on the mound tomorrow -- with run support, who knows what could happen

Wow, is this a great win! Street was sharp as tack. Very, very happy with this win and another tomorrow would be fabulous.

I realize that people mentioned that the Cardinals are going to be tough to beat in a playoff series but here is how the Cards have been playing in the last month:

Contested series against the Padres
Split with the Cubs
Won series against Astros
Won series against Marlins
Lost series against Angels
Lost series against A's
Lost series against Rangers

We aren't tanking like the Pirates are/will but I'm not confident that we are playing our best baseball right now.

Cards are still a damn good team and we were lucky that your bats were fairly quiet and the umps strike zone was a mystery all game long
