I looked through the history looking for that "oof - mistake" moment, and it's just not there. Just a whole lot of mediocre picks in mediocre spots. There is no pick that Poile has made where there was some stud there just waiting.
In fact, I found a few picks he made where a solid guy was taken just ahead.
07, he took Blum. Pacioretty was one ahead. 11 he took a goalie named Hellberg, one behind Boone Jenner. Even Legwand. Legwand is a solid player. But still one behind Vinny Lecavalier.
I love looking at drafts. So much luck, so much guessing. Can't really blame Polie for drafting. Some of his trades failed hard though.
Yeah I've done that a lot more the last week or so, I like looking through the drafts and seeing which years the goalies who have been drafted have had most success etc
Like yesterday, I was looking at number of wins goalies have had in their career and so far, Steve Mason has had the most wins out of all the goalies drafted in his year
