If they were, that's really quite impressive. Never got the impression that there's a lot of hatred between the Caps/Flyers. Is there? I could be wrong.

YES! For the Caps fans that were fans before OV, yes. I, actually, hate the Flyers just ever so slightly more than the Pens, but that is just me

It was a WC tradition, regardless of whether or not it was a regular season game. I was seriously shocked when the Pens just walked off... I thought they held themselves at a pretty high level as far as class goes, but that completely obliterated that notion.

I agree with you, and it's not really like them typically. I wish we could hear some more on it, but it'll probably just be talked up for a week or so, then swept under the rug...per usual. I wanna see who walked off first, if it was a coach led thing, or just one ticked player thing.

Yeah, same for me. Flyers hatred is just a smidgen bigger than Caps hatred (the gap has closed recently though). I guess it just varies by the generation of the fans. My generation may end up hating the Caps more than, say, my parents, just based on the games/playoff matchups. Seeing the Fly-guys 2 extra times does fuel the fire a bit though...good job by the fans finding some common ground though!

Yeah, some of the players were talking about how it was kind of hard on changes because there were no clocks in their normal site lines. The goalies had some difficulty with site lines as well...

Maybe it was the piles of fake snow they set up (read as white tufts of carpet crinkled up) that led everyone to believe it was NOT 50 and raining....

Maybe it was the piles of fake snow they set up (read as white tufts of carpet crinkled up) that led everyone to believe it was NOT 50 and raining....

Hahah, yeah, my favorite part of the first period is watching all the players look straight up for a replay or the clock, then the moment where they realize the jumbotron moved.

I think they were celebrating still...but NBC cut away from that stuff pretty quick. I mean, I doubt the Caps were rushing to do it anyway.

The bowl game outdrew the classic. Also, ESPN’s coverage of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl (Oklahoma’s 48-20 victory over Connecticut) won the night among all programs (broadcast or cable), generating a 6.7 rating.
