Texas proved nothing during the regular season, other than they could score a lot of points but lose a lot of games. They finished 7-5 overall and 5-4 in conference, the Big 12 at that. A bet against a team like this isn't a bad move. Putting way too much faith in Utah was, but they were playing against a not very good team.
