TSN says otherwise.

Luongo has struggled in his last two outings, giving up eight goals on 51 shots after stopping 72-of-74 shots in his first two games. However, the Canucks are still expected to go with Luongo tonight rather than give backup Cory Schneider his first start of the year.
Canucks look to get back on track with win over Hurricanes

also, Ballard out with concussion.

SNET says Schneid does get the call tonight.
On canuck matters, I take their word over TSN.

might as well turn this into the GNT.

Since Luongo has been a Canuck, only twice has a back-up started on home-ice when Luongo has been healthy.
Canes haven't won in Vancouver since 1999. Hopefully they don't party like its.....
Nucks have only lost 6 times (in reg) against the SW division in the past 48 matches.

AV mixing up the lines a lot now
Raymond with the twins
Samuellson on 3rd line with Torres / Malhotra
Tamby on the second line, w Kesler / Hansen
Rypien a late scratch in favour of Desbiens (wtf?)

anyways, Go Canucks Go!!!!!

Nucks know they have had trouble getting goals. Well tonight they are coming out possessed throwing everything at the net they can. Must have 7 or 8 shots already and it's only 5 minutes in.

oooh, Raymond schooled Gleasen on that one on one.
good backchecking eliminated the chance, but Nucks earned a (weak) powerplay out of it.
nice move nonetheless.

Seriously John Garrett is the biggest homer ever. The puck rolled off the Carolina players stick on the breakaway missing the net and he says, Oh Snieder would have made the save anyways he was in good position. WTF lol. He's the same guy who picks the Canucks to win the cup every year.

The funny thing is when he's the colour analyst for Sportsnet West and the Flames are playing anybody but the Canucks, the Flames can do no wrong. :)

yeah, that was an odd comment.
as he's saying that the angle from behind the net shows that there was some room on that side.
goalies stickin' together..... and yes, he's a huge homer.

it seems odd to say it, but Bieksa was quite good tonight.
He had a dumb giveaway in the 1st period, but he created much more for our team than for theirs tonight.

also, kesler is going to have a hattrick soon.
he's just got that break-out aura about him.

Hopefully that was Kesler's breakout goal tonight. He's had so many chances each game it was nice to see him put his head down and bury one.

Loved Schneider's mask. I got a kick out of the fact that Garret's mask was on there. Kid had a great game. He needed a W like Kesler needed a goal.

And ya, I agree Puck. I thought Bieksa was good tonight. Hard to admit but I gotta give credit when it's due. I also thought Rome and Alberts had strong games.

tonight's featured stat

Manny Malhotra face-offs: 15-1

I mentioned this in another Canes thread, but how often do you think Maurice is looking down the bench for Brind'amour?
