definitely well deserved. Not surprising for the Naslund jersey retirement but it's nice to hear they are honouring Orland.

I think the question about Bure's jersey retirement made Gillis squirm more than any other all night.

Good for Nazzy. And since Burkie is long, long gone, Bure's number should be up there, too. And he should be in the HHoF.

Personally, I don't think Bure did enough for the franchise to have his jersey retired.

Was he the most exciting Canuck ever, absolutely
Was he the best Canuck ever, probably
Did he do enough to warrant a jersey retirement, not for me

I think teams, especially teams lacking history, are too quick to try and create that history with jersey retirements. If Naslund had played for Montreal, would his jersey be retired with similar point totals?

For the Canucks, I think Naslund's #19 in the rafters is great, but I want the team to be very careful on who they choose and not be just another Colorado.

Between Bure and Nazzy, only one of the showed up on the postseason. Sure wasn't Nazzy.

One season doesn't get your jersey retired... unless you play for the Avs.

And choking to lose the division and art ross isn't exactly something great to remember a player by, either. And "choke" is Nazzy's words. The only thing Nazzy did after getting hit by Moore was take up far too much salary... and cap space after the lockout.

Yes, Nazzy has more games played than Bure in a Canucks uniform. But if you had your pick of one player in his prime to add to the current Canucks lineup, who do you pick?

I'd go with the guy who was indeed the most electrifying player in the entire league who had a little bit of a mean streak and showed up in the playoffs. You can take the guy who simply laced them up more.

lol that whole Mike Gillis awkward moment from last night that you posted about is comical

I bet during that question Mike harkened back to game 7 in 1994 and how Bure told him (as his agent) to go to management and threaten to sit that game out if they didnt renegotiate his contract ... talk about some insider info there (lol)

/edit ... my bad Ron Salcer was his main agent back then but Gillis probably knows what shook down during the 1994 playoffs

count me in as a vote for Bure up there . The whole situation on how he left here is the sole reason its not up there yet . He was the canucks most exciting and arguably best player to play for this franchise and he should be honored for that.

as for Nazzy , congrats , But this just solidifies it for me that Bure is next.
