Damn, as I type that, Kassian takes a bad penalty and the Russkies tie it up.

3-3

True, and you have to expect Canada to be better than... well... everybody, but I think Russia is outskating them. Good signs for their future.

Is that "ROY" I see on the back of Canada's goalie's jersey? Any relation? I have to watch with sound off (I've got company and am being incredibly rude right now).

No relation whatsoever to St. Patrick.

I haven't seen Kabanov's name out there. So sad.

So much wasted talent! Kabanov has been burning bridges everywhere he goes on both sides of the ocean. I don't think he was ever considered for this team. Russians are still pretty bitter that he left the KHL to come play in the CHL. Then after he had a fallout with his Moncton Wildcats during last year's playoffs, he went back to play for the under 18 team in Russia, where he was soon released. The supposed reason they cut him? Because when he was in the GM's (or coach's office) he helped himself to some peanuts that were sitting in a bowl without asking first. Not joking. Obviously they were looking for even the smallest excuse to drop him.

Did Jared Cowen go to power skating school? His skating is so much better than last year.
