Currently the Knicks stand 3 games out of the final playoff spot, trailing the Hawks. Can they catch the them? It will prove difficult even with Atlanta struggling.

Atlanta 27-35 (20 games left)
Home: 13 games
Away: 7 games
+.500 teams: 10 games
-.500 teams:10 games

New York 26-40 (16 games left)
Home: 7 games
Away: 9 games (including a late 5 game west coast swing)
+.500 teams: 10 games
-.500 teams: 6 games

Head-to-Head: Season series tied at 2 wins each

The Knicks need to make up 5 games in the loss column. With Atlanta still having 4 more games to play than the Knicks, some ground could be made up there with Atlanta losses. The Knicks clearly have the tougher schedule with more away games, that 5 game west coast swing, and a higher percentage of games against +.500 teams.

I don't think the Knicks will make it. Their current 5 game win streak was preceded by a 7 game losing streak. The current 5 game win streak has come against primarily weak opponents. There's just too much for the Knicks to overcome.

They beat really bad teams all year but anybody kind of ok they were crushed repeatedly by. Recently they have had slightly more success but I have to agree with you, they do not make it in.

My dream would be Detroit (Homering and I love Drummond) getting in over both of them and I would rather NYK in than ATL (Like the idea of Melo playing in the playoffs).

As it stand I think ATL hang on to become one of the worst 8 seeds every. So much worse than MIL last year.

I change my mind, ATL is not holding on. They will only win 2-4 more games.

NYK should easily win 5, could win more if teams are resting or they get hotter.

DET and CLE both go through a gauntlet before an easy april so they are not out either.

At this point...... it's basically a coin flip if the NYK make the postseason or not.

They should win at least 4 more games. They get Philly once and the Bucks twice. They have a lot of winnable home games.

Cleveland may be out of it after these next 5 games. A gauntlet for sure.

Detroit has a lot of road games and some very tough home opponents. They are out.

I think Atlanta will just hold on to the 8th seed.

The knicks won't make it. Their schedule gets tough after this extremely weak part. If the Hawks Milwaukee as I assume they would, that means 2 of the knicks wins this week would've meant shit due to Atlanta winning

I have the Knicks between 48 and 51 losses. Atlanta play a lot of winnable games. They'll probably finish with 45 or 46 losses

Lakers get a ton of balls in a lottery though.

Anyone that doesn't think the Lakers will end up with the 1st pick doesn't know the NBA.

Do the hawks get horford back anytime? Milsap and horford will make them pretty good

Anything can happen in the east this year. If Jackson signs on, it could be just the spark they need to get that final playoff spot... Too bad they'd get swept by Miami/Indiana, but it's the thought that counts!

No done for the year. The Hawks would be fighting with Toronto & Chicago if not for the injury to Al

For the 3rd time this week, Atlanta answers a Knick win with a win of their own. The Knicks are in trouble as the schedule is about to get a whole lot tougher now. This week of games was pretty easy
