one of my favourite things about draft day 1 coverage is when a player gets picked and all of the dozen or so experts are utterly silent while they are flipping to the later pages of their notes.

That's because the best hockey analysts are still usually local media. They have a much better insight into the needs of the team and what the GM probably thinks.

Listening to Mike Milbury pontificate about... anything hockey-related is just painful. Poor coach, horrible GM, brain-dead analyst... the guy was a decent enough player, though the most noteworthy thing anyone remembers about him is that he once jumped over the glass to chase down a fan and beat him with his own shoe.
