I don't believe the 2009 Defense could even have success with this Offensive scheme we roll with now.

At least in 2009 we managed the game and took care of the ball a bit. That allowed us to punt it away and flip the field position, ultimately allowing Suh and company to get after it when Offenses had their backs against the wall.

Now we turn it over too much. Too many errors. No Defense can withstand that much pressure over time. We put way too much pressure on our Defense by making mistakes Offensively.

I'd rather be "simple" than "multiple."

Back in the day (don't gag) when TO had his really good teams, he had good defenses, but he had better offenses. When offensive drives were at least 5-7 minutes long or longer, and the OL continually beat on the DL. We don't need to run the ball like we did to accomplish this now, but we need more than 3 minutes from the offense to give the "D" an occasional rest.

Both the offensive and defensive schemes have major flaws. And both are Bo's vision. Suh covered up those flaws on D with his dominance. That's how good he was, he made this SHIT work. The offense looks good at times vs inferior talent but gets taken to the wood shed when it comes across a D that is any good.

None of this will change unless the schemes change, and that isn't likely if Bo stays. I've never heard him even hint at flaws in the scheme. He just sees flaws in the execution.

Considering the league we are in (weak), despite our record, whether it's USC/ASU/UCLA, I think we'd get foot stomped if we end up in the HOliday Bowl.

It's not so much about the BIG being weak, but about Pelini's weak defensive scheme. Of course next season we may see a more solid defensive scheme without Bo being in the picture.
