No. Dallas shoudn't void the trade.

Because nothing they gave up is part of their long term plan anyway.

The risk to get Kristaps is worth it from a basketball perspective.

Cuban has also proven not to care much about women's rights in workplace given their past FO culture. That is the one wildcard in all of this. If Cuban willfully traded for an alleged rapist after all the drama in his front office it would be a really bad look for him.

Will be interesting to see how the media attacks this situation.

Supposedly "the victim" said Porzingis gave her a check but Porzingis said he never signed it and she doesn't have the original check?? Sounds like she might have forged it. Don't really know all the details so we will see how it plays out.

She didn't report anything to the cops until long after the trade. I think she went to the police last Thursday. If the teams knew, they knew what K.P. told them and I'd be shocked if Dallas didn't investigate. I would imagine a guy like Cuban has the ability to employ the best investigators available.

Just throwing this in there. The day she said it happened was the day he got hurt. How disabling exactly was the injury at that point?

Well,

The ACL is basically in charge of stabilizing your knee and connects the Femur to the Tibia.

If an athlete sustains a simple tear, they are often able to walk off the field/court under their own power, but they would not be able to run or do anything that requires a sudden change of direction.

Seeing as KP is like 7'2", I am quite sure he would have been physically able to overpower his accuser immediately after tearing his ACL. He just would be not be able to catch her if she got away and ran from him.

Makes sense.

Everything this woman says is asking for money. Seems pretty clear cut that she is making allegations just for money. NO idea if he actually hit her, but if so there will be photos or some sort of proof. But every statement she makes she says something about wanting money, tuition paid, or something.

$68k is nothing for an NBA star, so if he really did anything at all it seems logical he would have paid her. If she were asking for $6M, then I see him refusing even if he did go Ike Turner on her.

Going to be interesting to see how this pans out. I'm not 1 to blame the victim on much but if this did happen why didn't she report it right away?

I don't want to jump to conclusions on either side.

But here is a scenario:

KP has just had the worst day of his professional life. He is 22 years old and he does what many 22 year olds do after a bad day. Get wasted and try to get laid.

He is upset and wasted. Girl says no, but he presses on. Maybe the girl likes him so when he feels bad and offers to pay her, she agrees. She doesn't want to ruin his life because she thinks it was out of character for him.

Then after receiving legal advice, KP is told not to pay her because there is no evidence and she can't prove it. Payment only makes him look guilty. And because she is in text asking for $, now she looks guilty.

Maybe that is not at all what happened, but there are certainly ways to explain both parties' behavior that still started with KP raping her.

Fact is, we don't have any idea what happened in that apartment and speculating on either side with any degree of certainty is a bad idea.
