Lol.

What a terrific hater thread. At 30, Megatron is still better than Suh. And Stafford is far better than what the haters say. How can armchair dudes evaluate players? Lol

In a sense LS1 you are saying your armchair skills are better though right?

Cap will also continue to rise so these hits may not be as bad going forward. Key words being "may not".

Do you think it okay to pay 18-20 million if he is indeed declining? As I am not buying yet? He comes back and plays full season. The nagging injuries keep happening and he plays 12-14 games a year, IMO cap going up or not. He is not worth it. At least in my Armchair GM for Dummies book Ive been reading says so...

So Megatron is declining at 30 but Suh is in his prime at 29? OK Spanky, Whatever you say.

Well, he certainly isn't getting any younger but he is getting more expensive. Given the offense Caldwell wants to play the idea of carrying a $24m, aging and becoming more injury prone WR is simply not a good decision.

No matter how much of a fan favorite he is the right decision is to trade him, whether that be this season or next (I personally would do it now since all his dead $ goes away this year, even though we don't save any cap space but we would have a ton of space next year). Do you want to win (maybe not this year) or want CJ on the team? That really is the heart of the question at hand isn't it?

That being said you all know that with a huge amount of cap space and extra draft picks that I think Millenhew will probably screw it up. But many of you don't think he would do that. So let me ask you then how you don't think that with the amount of cap savings and the multiple FA's that could be signed and the extra early round pick(s) we would not end up as a MUCH better team than in keeping our ridiculously expensive, aging WR?

You are talking about at least 3-5 players here vs just him. Win or keep a popular player?

Right, watch Calvin play all 16 games. Get 1500+ yards and 12+ Td's and they will be onto whining about someone else lol.

stafford has a advantage when calvin is on the field because defenses are going not to leave him one on 1 so he should have a easy time finding good match ups.. and its troubling that he can not do that.

I thought the exact same thing until Detroit finally gave up trying to draft their #2 WR and signed Golden Tate. One year with Stafford at QB and he had 96 catches and almost 1300 yards in 15 games.

I'm thinking it has to do with fielding players who can actually get open AND catch the ball. The last part is key, because the Lions have struggled tremendously in the catching ball area. Though -- I don't know what the num

One thing doesn't have anything to do w the other. Are all men your age in the same shape as you?

Other factors are in play here, including injuries, wear and tear etc...

Suh won't be 29 until after the season, FYI.

Why put off a good thing? Let's get this albatross off the neck of the cap now.

Obviously they should have traded him if it meant keeping Suh. Maybe that wasn't an option.

I don't think there is a GM in the league who could trade that contract.
