I haven't seen the new bridge yet but with the old one you always had constant whirlpools. The worst though was at riptide because if you didn't angle your boat when heading to Gig Harbor you'd keep angling south towards the Narrows. On a lighter note, the octopus fishing under the narrows is about as good as it gets with maybe the exception of Redondo. We'd go octopus fishing with five gallon buckets after we knocked holes in the bottom of 'em with 16p nails. Afterwards we'd sell them to the asians and go buy dope.

I had to go to Purdy and Gig Harbor about 8 times a year in HS and was always disappointed over the old bridge because they worked on it. Driving over the new bridge is just hell because I already paid for and pay for maintenance yet they toll it.

Never have gone fishing near it because the few times I fish it isn’t for big game just salmon and there is zero reason to fish for salmon in the sound. Though Octopus is amazing, we just got a Bass Pro Shop that has a restaurant that features octopus. I don’t know shit about to make it but they got these Octopus and Gator nuggets/fingers that are to die for.

I've been living on the Eastside since '73 and never seen anything like that.

Maybe the foothills of the Cascades get more lightening than Bellevue or Seattle...

Here in Bothell it was non stop lightening for over an hour at least it seem like it was non stop.

The foothills get electrical storms that are cool to watch but nowhere near like it is now/was. You don’t get the Thunder or lightening bolts that are coming down like they were let alone the power outages, that the area isn’t competent in fixing. I don’t know about Seattle but rain was coming down sideways in the South Sound during the storm. I only kid about the Mutts being pussies. In no way should players or fans be in a Stadium that could attract that shit.

It’s Wally’s now. When it first became Wally’s they kept it the same as before and we all left our closed campus to have lunch there. But Wally’s that is in Des Moines ended up trying to make it a fish and chips joint so now it is just for hot rods to park their cars until they can go to the hot rod shows at the Buckley Log Show arena. Still viable and a good first job but it isn’t the same and they built a new HS no where near it so the business only makes money for the year during the real log show.
