I don't, nor I have, ever felt Simon was any good personally... He's not going to be the replacement... I feel we'll find another replacement...
we will need a decent player there because whoever gets that job will get thrown to...a lot.

No doubt, I just don't think Simon is that guy... Maxwell was a good player, no doubt but I don't think he was a stud like a lot of Hawk fans see him... He looked good in a system that fit his skill set and had a lot of help from a few future HOF'ers....

I see Browner, Thurmond and Maxwell as about the same talent, no studs, but good enough. Simon, well we'll see.

I agree with ONE, I never felt that simon was a good CB somtimes he gets to physical he can draw flags and when you put him in the slot like he was in the SB he would get burned. I see the hawks drafting a CB in this draft

Simon is very Browner like, in that he's big, but not quick and plays physical. Saw on ESPN that he also may need surgery.
So yeah, I'm guessing the Seahawks pick up some CBs.

I am probably wrong, but I remember it differently. Once Browner was unavailable, I thought Max played pretty good as a youngster, much better than Simon has shown so far. He certainly took Browners job away and I don't remember Max ever giving up 2 TD's in a game or 10 passes either.

Yes, but your talking about Maxwell's third season in the NFL. He played 18 games with 15 tackles and 3 passes defensed in his first 2 years (2011 & 2012).

There was a report that the Eagles and Falcons are both going to go hard after him. Like a 8-10 mil per year deal. Crazy.

But goes to show how much the Seahawks have influenced the league with the increased emphasis on the D backfield, including a record number of DBs taken in last years draft.

Reading back through the article about Pete's combine presser, Tharold Simon may also be needing off season surgery - so, even Simon may not have been healthy during the Super Bowl.

"We also have to see what's going on with Tharold with his shoulder," he said. "So we'll see how that goes."

Appears as though the LOB was held together by duct tape and bubble gum in the SB.

2015 is shaping up to be the biggest test of the team's depth since probably 2010 or 2011 when Carroll and Schneider were still reshaping the roster to their liking. With the LOB (minus Maxwell I'm assuming) all coming back either before the season or sometime during the season, I'm not sure that they have to go into full restock mode there, but I think we can count on some reinforcements being added late in the draft or via undrafted free agency. I don't know if they'll look to the veteran free agent market for depth or not. That might be too big a financial commitment for what might not be a whole lot of action if everything goes right.

Could definitely be the case... The eagles just traded Shady McCoy to Buffalo for a LB so they're definitely focusing on ramping up the defense...

Good for them, Kiko Alonso would be a solid pick up for them.

Eh, as much fun as it is to say that the run on DBs is because other teams are trying to copy our success, the reality is that it probably has more to do with the NFL making it easier and easier to pass.

Interesting. Seattle, Jacksonville, and Atlanta (I assume) run it. Who else?

From the tone and context of Maxwell's interview, sure seems like he's mentally moved on from Seattle. Too bad. Hopefully we can find a suitable replacement.
