If you look at it from the perspective that Atlanta is always going to have to overpay it isn't THAT bad.

But always risky to take a chance on a guy with one great season under his belt.

That's pretty much how I feel.

Due to him making 3 million on his last contract his salary wasn't going to go down. You rarely hear players say "my last contract was pretty stupid so even though I am a much better player than that now I do not deserve too much of a raise". Would the deal have gotten done for 4 or 4.5? I dont know, maybe the Atlanta factor knocked it up more.
