Saw muffin was the primary assist on at least 1 ranger goal....good for him !

Two primaries, the first and third goals. First goal he tries to clear it from the crease and puts it right on Zibanejads stick, third is a classic pass from behind the net that handcuffs the forward trying to leave, misses it, right on the stick of the Rangers defenseman who puts a floating wrister from 50 feet out, unscreened, past Sparks.

Getting Muffo as advertised, thanks for taking Bobby Orr Junior off the Kings hands.

That last goal referenced by Puck was a killer for the Leafs, and absolute deja vu for us Kings fans--a weak up the middle pass in his own net in seconds.

Working from home and have NHL Network on in the background, the NHL Hockey Central Radio is on with Doug MacLean, Nick Kypreos and some brother and they kicked off the show with the injuries to the TO blueline and what that means down the stretch and into the POs.

They were talking about how they need to spread the minutes, the Leafs banked on having enough depth to not make an additional move at the Trade Deadline, etc. and of course Muffo comes up. They all agreed that Babcock loved him at the World Cup but is struggling to know what kind of defender he has and how to deploy him properly.

Interestingly, MacLean chimed in and said he literally spoke to some folks in LA yesterday and they said Muzzin's play had dropped off the last 18 months in LA and essentially said he is not going to be the answer. He also admitted what we all either know or assume, that the east coast media bias does exist as they don't stay up late to watch the West Coast games and went off reports and other data as opposed to actually watching players.

Tie this all together and you get:
- Muzzin's reputation preceded him and has for the last 5 years
- he is not going to be the savior TO thought
- Kings sold high on him
- TO traded for a player they probably shouldn't have because they really need a right side defender even more now

It also proved that while teams may say things about their players ("great two way defender....leader...understands the game....etc") they do so to protect the asset value of their players. All we heard the last season and a half for Muzzin was how he has rounded out his game, how solid he has become, etc. I saw some more consistency - meaning he would be good for 10 games in a row now instead of 8 for example - but essentially he was the same player we have seen for years.

Thanks for taking him off the Kings' hands yet again TO, we cannot thank you enough.

Yep, giveaway led to 1st Nashville goal...same thing we saw too often here.
I hope that 1st round pick and Grunderson turn into gold...would be so sweet.

Tv only shows muffin giving a big hit on krug...kind of ignore his involvement of the 1st 2 goals for the bruins.
