A notable asset in Danny's treasure chest runs out in two weeks with the added trade exception Danny acquired last year. At the same time, Celtics are aggressively pursuing free agents and notably PGs.

Unfortunately, to me, the Love situation not getting resolved, and July 12 coming up, Danny needs to make a move. Its not a coincidence that Rondo is making his demands public at the very same time.

Something is going down, and that trade exception will be used

I think the Celtics are moving on from Rondo. They're in total rebuild mode. I can't envision him spending more time in Boston. He's still a top 5 PG in the league, they'll get a good amount of assets for him.

I've known this for quite a while (have family that works in Boston's FO) Rondo is as good as gone. They're trying to deal him ASAP.

This perception is exactly why Boston will get a very good return for him. Reality is though, there are many good PGs in the NBA and you simply cannot build a team around around a guard who can't shoot. I am not sure that Rondo is one of the top PGs in the league, but his trade value is still considerable.

He'd be a good addition to the Mavs.

I'd hate to see him go, but realistically, who and/or what could we get for Rajon Rondo? I'm not big on the undersized Isaiah Thomas. Also, it appears Jeff Green may be on the block. The first two calls made by Ainge/Stevens were to small forwards, namely Gordon Hayward and Chandler Parsons.

The Celtics resign Bradley for $32MM over four years.

Yup looks like a 8M per year deal. Do now they have 3 guards locked up and we will see if Rondo is on the block. Celtics need a defensive center.

Everyone cares about the Celtics and Lakers even when they have WNBA rosters like they do now.

There can't be more than 5 teams that could use Rondo, though.

Lakers?

Rondo for Randle could make sense if they can make the $ work.

I was just using them as a point of comparison.

Rondo for Randle and a contract would be interesting but I dont think the Lakers would take that. Celtics do still have the resources to get Kevin Love. Kings probably still want Rondo. Mavericks seem like a possible destination all of a sudden.

I agree with you. I was just thinking they could be one of the 5. They can't rebuild through the draft with all the $ they are paying Kobe.

How about Houston if they whiff on Melo?

Would Parsons and picks be enough?

It would be nice if they could dump Crash's * Wallace* contract at the same time.

Detroit was hot for him last Summer.

Sign and trade for Monroe?

Yeah....if I'm the Lakers, I'm not touching that trade. I could see Randle having an excellent all-star type career.

Well I am the opposite, Randle is a tweener who has foot issues . He reminds me on Antwoine Walker.

If the Lakers had taken Vonleh, I could see Danny taking a deal seriously. I will never understand how Vonleh fell.

Perfect!

A trade that neither fan base wants to do. Sounds like a winner?

Houston does sound like a team who would be interested, but I am not sure they should be. I think I would rather have Parsons with Beverly at the 1 than I would Rondo.

Randle fractured his foot once which left him out for 3 months. Rondo tore his ACL. I'll take my chance with the foot.

Exactly. He had a screw inserted in his broken foot in high school. The only question is whether or not they need to take the screw out. We're not talking about Bill Walton foot issues here.

Every doctor he has seen so far, has said there's no reason to take the screw out. He saw a specialist in Indiana. As of now, he is expected to be available for the Las Vegas Summer League which starts July 11th. Kupchak did say that the Lakers will know more by the end of the week, but as of now, there appears to be no reason to remove the screw.
