Giants 'pen ranked #3 (behind Braves and Yanks)

"They ranked second in the majors in bullpen ERA, despite the intermittent physical troubles of closer Brian Wilson. Sergio Romo averaged 13.1 strikeouts per nine innings, and right-handers had a .177 on-base percentage against him last season. And the Giants have balance, too, with Javier Lopez and Jeremy Affeldt."

Olney ranks the starting rotation at #4 (Phils, Rays, Angels)

"The Giants finished second to the Phillies in rotation ERA, with Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain and All-Star Ryan Vogelsong leading the way; Madison Bumgarner appears ready to climb into the next level of starters, based on his month-by-month ERA:

April: 6.17
May: 2.21
June: 4.28
July: 3.69
August: 2.30
September: 2.01

With Jonathan Sanchez gone, Eric Surkamp figures to battle Barry Zito for the No. 5 spot in the rotation; Zito is down to the final two years of his seven-year, $126 million contract."

D-Backs in the fifth spot.

Seems about right to me, but depending on Surkamp's showing and Voges "sophomore year," I might put the Giants' rotation ahead of the Angels (Rays, too?). Those question marks are too big for any major clamoring over a pre-season projection. Thanks for posting that, CC.

Thankyouverymuch.

Holy crud, filo! You have almost 14,000 reps.

Are these like airline miles? Can you turn them into anything productive? Like adding hours back to your life lost on these boards? Is there some secret Sportshoopla online store to redeem reps?

My wife's and my favorite (scripted) line in the whole flick. Yeah, I said my wife. In addition to being a bigger Giants fan than me, she digs dude comedies and action movies.

Dude, you certainly married well. Rep.

OT: which Giant did your wife have a crush on back in the day? Mine? Atlee Hammaker.

A little before mine's time. Her big one was JT Snow (I know not very original).

Current one is of course Stamos. She also dug Brian Wilson pre-beard.

First off, weak Dodger fan...I don't care how good looking he is if my gal liked Matt Kemp we'd have a situation.

Second, if she likes him now I imagine you must have an interesting look yourself! :high5:
