I take it this is under the assumption Havlat isn't healthy enough to return. First choice would be McCarthy but he's injured. Hamilton has NHL calibre defensive awareness so he may be an option. Kennedy will probably be the option they go with though. He may do a little better against Chicago than anyone else since they are not a physical team and he has the speed to play against them.

Yeah, I meant in case Havlat is still out.

Would just like someone who isn't a(s big a) defensive liability as Kennedy is... can't really afford to have him play as it is but I'm sure he's the first choice for the coaches.

Also, anyone know why the hell the Sharks would just come out and voluntarily announce this today instead of keeping to themselves or listing Burish as day-to-day?

I guess other teams don't really care since it's Burish we're talking about but still...

Irwin was shaky indeed. Getting Demers back to push Irwin out of the lineup might cause a lot of shake up in the pairings. If Demers is just plugged into Irwin's spot beside Boyle, we'd have two right handed dmen playing together in Boyle/Demers, while already having two LH dmen playing together (Stuart/Hannan).

Would Todd mix those pairings up?

Stuart/Boyle?
Hannan/Demers?

I don't think those four have any reps playing with each other. Defensive pairing chemistry will help a lot going against the quick Hawks. Just something to consider.
