Game Thread: Bumgarner vs Syndergaard

No idea. Like I said, I don't know Thors history when going against routine.

He actually does okay on short rest, like last year's playoffs. Not sure how this long of a layover will upset him.

A couple of starts this year, he was totally prepared, looked sharp on the mound, was hurling the hundies, and STILL got lit up.

Bumgarner, you know pretty much exactly what you're going to get from him in a playoff game.

This could end really badly for the Mets.

30% of his career starts have been on 6+ days of rest and he's got a 2.51 ERA in those starts.

@moxie, I seent that yew dumped all yer V's on the Mets. I has done likewise on the Giants, though the amount is insufficient to appease the baseball deities, compared to your invested wad. We shall see who finds favor.

I only hope now that we are treated to a fantastic contest, and that our relationship is strong enough to survive the outcome.

I completely agree. This is a very weak lineup against Bumgarner. I think if Thor wants to win this one, he may have to hit one out himself.

These are possibly the two best hitting pitchers in the game, so that is a possibility.

However, in 2015, Bum didn't give up a hit to a pitcher all year. I am not sure what the exact numbers are fir 2016, but I don't think he was perfect.

Yeah, they are both good hitters and I think they are both 0-2 against each other. I could see the game being decided by a hit by one of the pitchers.
