Being on target is fine but tight spirals do matter - as they are both easier to catch and have more velocity and Smith already has velocity issues.

Being on target matters much more than anything else. I would much rather have an ugly duck on target than a nice sprial that is over or underthrown.

The ball got there for a 20+ yard gain, there is nothing there to complain about other than the holding call.
