can we be honest and say Fowler is overrated. he has 14.5 career sacks
there are several other options that have the same amount of potential and better numbers that we could draft.
....He's doing a great job of desperately selling himself. Even he knows he's a 2nd rounder.

I've heard some reports that a lot (if not most) GMs believe that there are only about 16-20 players that are deserving of a first round grade. I agree with that. This draft may deep at some positions, but it's not long on elite and near-elite players. So, if we want to trade down, we better not, as McCloughan mentioned, go too much down the draft board.

That's how I took his remarks given the context of the convo he was having with Larry re the draft and not being too cute about trading back as you didn't want to miss out on your top targets.

Exactly. While you want to parlay luxury for value, you also don't want end up with a Gremlin and a Big Mac.

A lot of people that are supposed to know what they are talking about feel Dupree is the most talented edge rusher in this draft...his tape doesn't match his athleticism is the knock I've heard on him...If he played @ GA instead of KY...i.e. had more talent around him, he would be a top 10 pick.

It might seem crazy, but if the Skins want Dupree...they might be better off reaching.

As it stands now...with Gregory, and Ray most likely knocking themselves out of the top 10...if Beasley and Fowler are gone...don't be surprised if ATL reaches for him @ 8.

Agreed...this is probably the most unsettled top of the draft that I've ever seen...we're going to find out just how much character matters to these teams with no less than 4 top shelf talents having issues to be concerned about.

If they go conservative and back off those guys early, it probably pushes a couple more OL guys into the top 15.

From all the mocks that ive seen, and simulated, the first round value for this team lies in the top 12-14 picks. From there is a large gap in value until we hit pick 23(more or less), at which point we could go after a lineman from whats left of: La'el collins , Erick Flowers, Andrus Peat, or even a guy like Cameron Erving could be had late in the first.
