Series Thread: Bucs at Cubs

Great series. Needed that. A strong week could put the Pirates in very good shape for that 2nd wild card.

I still feel like this lineup hasn't peaked. Hopefully Jay Hay comes back today. He is the straw that stirs the drink. Would be tough to be without him for an extended time.

If Harrison comes back with Cutch getting hot, we'll be scoring a lot of runs.

And I'd be in favor of Barmes starting at third in the interim. Whether or not he hits better than Morel (he probably would), his defensive talent would be pretty useful over there.

Tabata's looked really good since his call-up, too. So has Lambo. Polanco hasn't looked great, but he at least looks more comfortable. We've got a lot of bench bats for the stretch run.

assuming snider, alvarez, and harrison can come back where they left off,
tabata, snider, lambo, polanco, stewart, tsanchez, all contributing.

just hate when we bat our 1B 4th or 5th. seem to get nothing potent from them there. gaby and ike seem to do better when they come off the bench and lower in the order.

Both have looked a lot better in the second half, though. Ike's been an on-base machine, and Gaby's finding his gap power again.
