Perhaps the NHL would not approve of a horse with giant balls eating a bowl of spaghetti.
Sweet jesus I hope he wears those.
Ilya Bryzgalov's new Flyers goalie mask: Now introducing your Philadelphia Tigers! - Broad Street Hockey
Hot diggity damn that is schmexy
Oh. My. Shit.
They're grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
Late Tuesday night, pictures surfaced of what might be Ilya Bryzgalov’s new ink as Flyers goaltender. Pictures of a mask were presented by ingoalmag.com which said that La Griffe Originale artist Stephane Bergeron was ready to debut Bryzgalov’s new mask.
The mask is dominated by a tiger on either side with a Flyers logo on the forehead, partially blocked by a Bauer logo, and the goalie’s nickname, Bryz, on the chin.
“Well it’s Bryz’s idea,” Bergeron told the publication. “The tiger is the emblem of Russia, called the ‘Amur’.”
But not so fast.
Fran Drummond of Drummond Custom Airbrush has been the Flyers’ go-to guy for mask design. It turns out that Drummond is working on a mask as well.
“So everyone out in Facebook world is aware, we did not paint the Bryz mask that is out on the web (tigers),” Drummond Custom Airbrush’s Facebook page says. “We are working on our own version for Bryz and we think you will be able to see which one he will wear.”
Drummond suggests that both masks will be presented to the new Flyers goalie and he will choose which one he wants to wear. Drummond also said on Twitter that Bryzgalov may even opt to keep both and alternate throughout the season, although that is rarely done in the NHL.
Time will tell which one Bryzgalov likes better; we may not know until he first steps out onto the ice of the SkateZone in Voorhees, N.J. when the Flyers veterans take to the ice for training camp on Sept. 17.
