He shoulda had that pitch, but yeah...you can't argue balls and strikes

More importantly you can't make an exhibit of showing up the ump. This dumb fuck thinks he's bigger than the game.

I'm not saying it will happen, but if he does have a great season.. Will all the haters still come out of the woodwork?

Well, we certainly aren't seeing the "he's overrated and not living up to the hype" posts, but he's not getting the recognition that he deserves for the season he's having.

Mid September and a two hundred and fucking four OPS+. That's just sick.

There are only 19 players in the history of MLB that have had a better OPS+ for a season - six of them played in the 1800's and another seven played before they let black guys in the league. That leaves six players in the last seventy years that have had better seasons than 22-year-old Bryce Harper.

Out of those 6, how many were linked to roids too? I know Bonds has had better OPS+ seasons, but I'd almost bet all of them came after 2000. And I think Sosa and McGuire had a season better, but that was during the roid era as well.

Remove those with links to roids and you've got Mickey Mantle, Willie McCovey and Frank Thomas.

The other three are Bonds, McGwire and Bagwell.

It may be worth noting that Bonds did have two better seasons in 1992 and 1993 before he started doping. That guy was a clear HOF before juicing.

People love to hate on this kid. I don't get it.

Cheesy for sure, but I would like to know the whole story. I have read that pretty much every pitcher he faced in the minors was after him, so there could be more to this than just the kiss.

He was also, what, 17 years old? Haven't seen any of that shit in the majors to my knowledge.

He's an incredible player. Definite HOF potential talent. We'll see if he plays to his potential.

A hormonal teenager playing way above his competition is showing signs of immaturity?! WELL I NEVER!

Yeah, I think for me it's more the tired schtick of "respect the game." He's playing the game as well, or better than 99% of the players who have ever played it. If you look at the metrics he produces in all facets, including on the bases and in the field. You don't produce there without effort. The fact is, older players have been jealous of him since day one, and taken every opportunity to try to tear him down. Just applaud the kid for his talent, don't hate him because you were hand washing jock straps in single A at the same age.

Does anyone on the bench ctitisize Pap when he gives up a home run or loses the save. I'd rather have Harper on my team than asshole Pap.
