We have a top 15 all-time NBA players thread going and I'm not sure who's worst. The indignant Celtics fan who's highly offended that no one puts Bill Russell as the greatest to ever play the game or the teenage Heat "fans" who have Lebron as greater than MJ.

1. MJ
2. Magic
3. Bird
4. Kareem

The top 4 aren't even debatable unless you swap Kareem and Bird.

good list

hard to not have russell there, sorry

400 NBA titles and arguably the best defensive center in NBA history

PS im not indignant about it

i think magic is highly overjetered as far as all time players go...surrounded by talent, HOF coach in a high paced offense

all time great, yes...maybe the best PG ever? i can make a case but its hard not to agree with that.

all time players tho?

Not sure if you've noticed how much Ive been bitching about our $7M closer Huston Street. Came in yesterday and gave up HRs on consecutive pitches to hand the series to the Dodgers. My frustration has never been this high. Here we are on the brink, about to get in the market to move one of our corner OFs and pick up a starter and the front office is going to let this excitement and our shot at the playoffs die because they're too proud to admit a mistake.

Huston Street is an overpaid bum who doesn't give a fuck. If they waived him today, he'd clear waivers.

I know you and romeo discussed this last night, but I bet Texas and SD hook up. We could offer a starter that is cheap (teppesch or Grimm) for a COF. Since both teams are in the mix for the playoffs though, I don't see us getting the guy I want (Venable). Not sure is Soria will be back before the trade deadline, but that could be closer help for you guys as well.

You obviously weren't watching basketball from 1979 - 1990.

Man, you would fuckin LOVE William Venable but I highly doubt he's available. I think we only have corners available; a couple of them.

thats when i watched the most

Dude, my Dad is the most shameless, passionate Celtics homer IN THE WORLD and he admits that Magic was second only to MJ. Played every position on the floor. The best facilitator EVER and could be unstoppable on scoring when needed.

i know i know

6'9 could play every position...killed my C's in the finals as a last second center

wont ever forget that

kareem
cooper
green
worthy
wilkes

even guys like scott and thompson, macadoo

you can go on and on

very very deep bench, lots of size, and lots of big names (some at the tail ends of their careers, but still effective in that offense)

Eck pitched for the Padres? :boink:

Get real, fordman, we all know that the second-greatest closer after Trevor is Lee Smith.
