WTF with modern athletes?

Yes, they're bigger, faster, stronger, etc...but sneeze on them wrong and they hit the DL. And, they're coddled WAY more than they were in Mordecai Brown's day.

How many complete games did Cy Young pitch? Spahn and Sain, then pray for rain? Guys went out there every third day...played both ends of a double header...rode TRAINS to away games...and what passed for sports medicine back then amounted to "take a salt tablet...can you still walk on it?"

I'm not saying these guys aren't tough or don't play with nagging injuries...but...I don't know how to finish that sentence.
