Except Montreal has taken it to a whole new level. Show me anywhere that either of tese things has happened.
1 Calling for Chara's arrest. (idiots)
2 Protesting a game against a team that was not even involved. (morons)

In addition too that stupid fucking ole chant (jackasses)

1. British Columbia police were involved in the Todd Bertuzzi / Steve Moore incident
2. Other sources called the event a rally against head shots, not a protest

I guess they could chant USA instead of Ole', thats much cooler in this situation and makes much more sense.

As to Bruce, in a league that releases little information and is filled with boring/robotic interviews, I like Bruce. The guy will tell you what he thinks. It may not always be right, it may be crazy biased at times, but the guy doesn't bullshit around and he has the best winning percentage among active coaches. He also toiled for years in the AHL, so you know he knows physical hockey. He doesn't get enough credit in my opinion.

I like Bruce and I fine with his quote. I dont agree with it per se, since that blanket statement could be said to anyone questioning or unhappy about any aspect of the sport, but its a fun quote from a good coach IMO.

Unhappy with the refs? Stay home!
Don't like the shootout? Dont come to the games? etc

Point 1 Please note "calling" as in tiying up 911 lines.
Point 2 Semantics protest - rally

Point 3 was just fucking with all Montreal fans.

Yeah man if maybe the Bruins will play well enough to raise their record to 2-4 against the Habs this year! Hey, if someone dies on the ice on the 24th can you imagine how awesome the next game would be? I'll tell you it would be fuckign epic and awesome! Whoo-hoo!

Point 1. That's pretty stupid alright, I think its even stupider and irresponsible of the media outlet that urged people to call 911.

Point 2. Close, but not really. There is a difference between protesting a game and having a rally outside before a game. At least to me.

Point 3. Oh so its stupid if you chant something like Ole' when winning but its cool when you are fucking with other fans? I'll write that down. I am sure all of the Bruins fans who chanted 'USA' were aware of the irony of it.

Yes there is irony, but regardless of where the players hail from, Boston is an American team and Montreal is a Canadian team... So...

Amen to that!! It pissed me off when the Caps were going through that bad stretch and everyone was saying "Boudreau sucks as a coach", "Boudreau's lost the team", "Blah blah blah and all that other fucking horseshit" Where are they now? Don't get me wrong, anything less than the ECF and it's maybe time to reconsider. But, that was nothing more than a slump in a 82 game schedule!!! It happens...

You should see my post on the actual Caps' board "I'm staying positive and I'm with Bruce!" I can't stand those boards - too many reactionary idiots.

My position has always been this - if we fail to at least reach the ECF this year then all options are wide open. But for this year, Bruce has earned the right to succeed or fail. We owe him that much and I think he's done a good job. The problems this year have been more with the players IMO. Bruce has completely adjusted a lot of things and changed this team in to exactly wht everyone criticized them for. That deserves some praise.

I don't see enough of Boudreau to say whether he's a good coach or not. Certainly seems like he's had success this year - breeding a more complete defensive game into the Caps. They obviously struggled with it early, but seem to have found a balance recently.

The big test will be playoffs, and how Boudreau makes adjustments game by game. That's where I've thought he was a weak coach in the past.

He's also one of the more annoying coaches in the league, from an opposing fans point of view.

1> Never were the lines even close to "tied up". Police asked people to 'not tie up lines'. Big difference.

2> Wow. Fans in a hockey city actually care about a hockey issue. MOVE THEM TO PHOENIX A.S.A.P.

Oh and BTW. I'm laughing my ass off at any Boston fans mocking Montreal hockey fans.

As recently as 5 years ago the Bruins were drawing less than 15,000 (on average) to games. Even if they were chanting OLE, would anyone have heard them?
