Until he imploded after a Titans game, he was far from a dud. That outburst sealed his fate though.

VY isn't a bad guy and he's proving that right now. Like I've said before, I find it very, very hard to believe that he's not better than many of the guys I see on the active list in the NFL.

To put Vince Young in the same ballpark with Jamarcus Russell is stupid. Just the fact that they are completely different in types of people, they didn't even have the same kind of game.

Occasionally, it is helpful for all of us (including me) to think before we say things that we really don't know anything about.

In addition to that, your statement is not completely accurate.

He was not great in the NFL, but he had a few pretty good years. His immaturity pretty much precluded any chance he possibly could have had to play long enough to develop some NFL skills.

But as a college quarterback and leader of a team, he was unmatched. And to my quote, he was not a partier, loud, into drugs, or into any kind of extravagance while in school. He did not get money under the table and go out and purchase a $50,000 vehicle with no income, were my points.
