Browns eyeing Manziel

The Browns have had something on the order of 11 QB's in the last 14 years.

Honk if you've played QB for the Browns.

According to an article on Yahoo, they're eyeing Johnny Manziel.

This after starting a new QB this year.

And that after starting new QB last year.

Average starting time for QB's in Cleveland: 22 games. That's it. If you can't walk on water after that, you're fired.

No thought to upgrading the Oline - which is horrible by the way - or no thought to Richardson being injury prone, and no thought to giving said QB someone of note to whom he can throw the ball. Nope. It's all on the QB.

To make matters worse, every few years is a new HC/GM/owner and anytime you change one of them, they want to do things their way which means tearing it down and rebuilding.

If I were Johnny Manziel, I stay in school another year instead of coming out for the 2014 draft.

or come out pull a Eli manning or John Elway and say Im not playing for the Browns and be ready to sit out the season and go back in the 15 draft

Way to early to start making these speculations. At least lets finish the season first.

Whoever wrote the article surely has other things he could have written about other than what could happen 6-7mos from now in the NFL draft.

Guy didn't have a awful game vs the Ravens, but he still wasn't good and the Ravens defense isn't nearly what they used to be. He threw 3 INTs vs the Dolphins week 1.

The Browns weapons on offense are solid, especially once Josh Gordon comes back. Not every QB has a Calvin Johnson to throw to.

They have a pretty good o-line and they have one of the best Joe Thomas. They need legit WRs...only one thwy have is Gordon and he is a 2 or 3 for most teams.

I will admit he isn't the best, but he has shown he can play. I still would sit him to give Manziel a chance any day. I could see him saying something like Eli, not wanting to go to Cleveland.

The Browns have struggled @ the QB position for a long, long time, but I don't think Johnny football is the answer...fwiw I don't think he's going to be a good pro QB at all...maybe a backup.

Richardson has been in the NFL for 18 games. He's started in 17. He's not injury prone. He had 950yds in 15 games last year...........his "rookie year."

From LT to C, CLE could be among the best in the league and the right side is not bad.

Weeden has an NFL arm, but not mobile, and for just a 2nd yr QB he's already about 30 y/o...you don't want to play musical chairs at QB, but they will need to get him some legit weapons on the outside and @ TE.

Well to be fair they have tried to upgrade everything they just keep making bad picks. Weeden is not the answer either. But to be fair they are putting together some pieces. Josh Gordon if he can stay out of trouble is very talented Little is a decent #2 and Richardson can be a great back. Mack and Thomas are as good as any other linemen in the league and they have quietly put together a very solid defense.
