Of all the Seattle CBs, I think he would struggle the most outside of Carroll's system. I don't know that he can be effective playing off coverage on a regular basis.

Brandon Browner - DB - Seahawks

Seahawks RCB Brandon Browner recently turned down an offer from the NFL to reduce his suspension from one year to early next October.

Browner must be awfully sure of himself. Currently, Browner faces a suspension that would extend through December of 2014. Had he accepted the offer, Browner would've been eligible to play after the first month or so of the 2014 regular season. Also playing a role in Browner's decision is his impending free agency, which would be far less valuable when facing a suspension. Browner's ban is for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Brandon Browner - DB - Seahawks

NFL suspended Seahawks RCB Brandon Browner indefinitely for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

23 days ago, ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL.com's Mike Silver both reported Browner was facing a lengthy suspension. Browner appealed the ban. FOX Sports then reported Browner turned down an offer to reduce his suspension from a one-year ban to early October 2014. Browner is now facing a minimum of a one-year suspension and will have to keep his nose clean in order to be reinstated. He can apply for reinstatement one year from today. For now, he's done for 2013 and 15 weeks of 2014. Browner will be a free agent in March and turns 30 in August. His Seattle days are over, while some believe his NFL career may also be done.

Ballsy move by him not to accept the NFL's deal, which would have allowed him to play most of the season next year. I'd imagine he'll bring a suit, but that'll take time. Can't say I'm all broken up about this, though Seattle hasn't missed a beat without him.

Seattle is doing just fine without him. He's useless.

Ballsy but stupid move. Looks like it backfired on him.

Mike Garafolo:

Antoine Winfield has decided to stay retired.

Good. The thing about Browner I wonder about is what kind of deal he'll get when he can return. I hope Seattle doesn't get him back cheaply.

So this guy will come back possibly late next year. He's a free agent after this season BTW.

Would it be worth all the BS people will say about Harbaugh & him calling out the Seahawks' 'roid usage to consider signing him on the cheap as a safety? Just throwing it out there.
