Broncos decline 5th year option on Shane Ray

Ugh OT Cedric Ogbuehi I know Denver wanted him as well.

Mid round pick like a 3rd or 4th should be enough to get him to join the Ponies.

He'll be bitter they didn't bring him back for a 5th season so he'll want to play the Broncos 2x a year and get back at them.

I won't be shocked if he is bitter but not sure he should be. He has been injured 2 of the 3 years he has been here and just hasn't produced like the Broncos had hoped. I hope he shows up this year and can get himself a big contract somewhere as he seems like a guy that has worked hard to get himself out of a bad situation growing up.

Yeah wouldn't shock me to see him end up with the Chiefs since he is from that area and has a lot of his family and friends still there.

Its not a given, though. Chiefs have had issues with run defense and Dee Ford to Shane Ray is mostly a lateral move imo. I like Shane at the college level but I'm not convinced he is a fit on the Chiefs currently.

Its weird that the NFL highly values pass rushers but the main trend i'm seeing is massive trench players and lots of nickel type schemes and I'm not sure where these types of pass rushers find their value.

Given his injury history I doubt anybody will give up an early pick for Shane Ray. At least any smart GM wouldn't.

Denver and Cincy should just do a deal now Ogbuehi for Ray. See if a change helps either. Not sure a change can help with health though.

Chiefs are the first team that came to my mind for Shane Ray. No question he would like to play for Kansas City, the bigger question is do they want him? Have to see how this year goes for him.

Kevin White had a great season at WV when he came out for the draft. Just a guy who can't stay healthy. He's played 5 games in 3 years with the Bears that and QB changes has really stunt his development. Even without the QB changes he has played 5 total games. Hard to get anywhere when you can't be on the field.

Cameron Erving is god awful. I don't even think he will make the Chiefs final roster this year. He has just been that bad.

That would be a one-sided deal because we all know Shane Ray can't stay healthy

Laken Tomlinson has his 5th year option declined as well. Lions want to get a long-term deal done just don't want to pay him $9 million for a year.

They haven't done anything that I could see for any of them to deserve their 5th year options IMO. Production (or lack thereof) speaks for itself.

With Ray not coming back they should have his dead money to apply to Fowler. Could be wrong though

Fowler- Off field concerns
White- Injured bust
Flowers- Bust
Shelton- Bust (been on two teams)
Erving- Bad Bust (been on two teams)
Obugehi- Starting, but Bengals OL is one of the worst if not worst in the NFL.
Ray- Injured bust
Perriman- Injured bust, bad work ethic from day 1.
Tomlinson- Lions took him too high IMO, not bad player but not worth 9 mil a year.
Dorsett- Bad pick/reach. Bust with the Colts. Pats got a smidge out of him, but they have a lot of WR's, may not make the team this year, probably won't if everyone is healthy.
Anthony- My fav LB in the draft that year. Bust. (two teams already)
Malcolm Brown- Showed a few flashes last year but outplayed by an undrafted rookie from the same class he was in NE.

Fowler is only due to off field issues. Hard to lock a guy in long term who has been arrested multiple times since joining your team. If he behaves he probably stays there on a long term deal.
