although we wont trade for him.....With him and Whit at LT and LG along with Pollack, Zeitler and Dre we might have a dominant oline.... Mathis still did way better than Andrews punk ass a few years back...Alexander didnt like him because Mathis thought he was getting bullshitted and he was...

I can give you 26 million reasons why we won't do that.

Wasn't Mathis an awful guard for us?

Besides, we're not signing anyone. We need as much money as humanly possible to sign Andy's new deal.

And we also don't want to lose our fourth round compensation pick for losing Anthony Collins.

Who-Dey!

That's what I was trying to say, needless to say my joke failed.

On a brighter note, Peko just got an extension. Why? Who the hell knows?

Ha! You are WRONG!

Per Paul Dehner...Bengals have reached an extension with...

Domato Peko...

Yeah, bitches! Line up for that championship!

Stop being so clever -- It makes me feel stupid.

I'm glad we re-signed Peko..... He might lead the league in total dollars earned per negative PFF point.

Of course PFF gave Mathis the best grade of all guards the last THREE seasons. He blew away his competition in run blocking.

3rd best LG in pass blocking (9th overall for guards) in 2011. 2nd best in 2012. 11th best pass blocking LG last season (22nd overall). ***Pass blocking efficiency is right about where these numbers are as well.

Was he good here? I remember a few guards sucking during that time, I just can't remember if he was one of them.

In 2009 for the Bengals, Mathis ranked as the 5th best LG. He only played (partially) in 5 games in 2010 (injury?).

He did not allow a sack between 2009-2010. But apparently we don't like those kind of players.

The only linemen we are allowed to bring have to be close friends with Andy Dalton

Oh yeah.... Now I remember -- He was good, so we decided it wouldn't make much sense to play him. That strategy also worked with AC.

Chip Kelly must have a policy of putting a player on the trading block as soon as they ask for a new contract

I'm not so sure he was awful as much as the Bengals blindly preferred Nate Livings to him at the time......a fine choice by our awesome oline coach who's standout record includes a running game that has finished 20th or worse in ypc since 2005.

Simply awesome.......

It was Nate Livings that I was thinking of.... I couldn't remember him and had the two confused.

Mathis blew Livings out the water and punk ass Alexander didnt like it that Mathis told him repeatedly he is performing better than Livings! Alexander and Lewis held the team back with this bullshit! Had they played the guy and kept him next to Whit we would have DOMINATED! Fuckin dumb ass coaches always think they know everything. Fat Fuck Paul I have had it with this idiot! I dont understand why this Mofo is still coaching our oline...I hate his ass like Lewis! I cant wait to the new regime comes in here in a few years and tell his ass to pack up and get the fugg out! If I was Jackson I would be POUNDING the table for Mathis and I would tell Alexander "Play his ass until he cant walk" "then we will put someone else in"

You mean, still coaching one of the top 2-3 offensive lines from last year, per PFF...

Yeah, that guy don't know shit. :L

:fify:

Our running game has sucked since 2004, when we had Corey Dillon and Big Willie......Since 2006, our best ranking in ypc has been 20th. That's not good run blocking.
