Lightning trade eric brewer to ducks for oilers 2015 3rd draft pick. Great deal for a guy we were not going to keep after this season anyway

I agree a 3rd round pick is decent for a guy who we no longer was going to keep after this year.

Wonder if they're clearing cap space to make a move.

I think Yzerman now has that option with Brewer's Salary off the books but this move is to give the youngsters an opportunity (Barberio & Sustr). Don't forget as well if Brewer stayed it would of been likely Namestinkov or Paquette send down to Syracuse, Yzerman wanted to keep them with the big club.

Makes sense.

Brewer was playing decent this year, I wonder if we'll miss him ? Sustr has been a surprise with his good play, perhaps that was a factor in dealing Brewer.

The majority of comments after the story were ( good for getting rid of Brewer ) but I'm not convinced.

I agree with Bolt 150%. He was playing very well for the Bolts this season. Without Hedman in the lineup, I hope this doesn't come back & bite them in the ass! Y & Pooper only care about offense & will soon burn out a young & very talented net-minder. Bishop can't be the "total" Bolt's D. All Y & Pooper like is offensive D-men. Brewer was having a banner defensive year + taking SOG! Oh well, he was bound to go anyways, he's like Bolt & I (in the over 30 club)!!!!!!
