If Payton coaches another team this year, then he's an asshole. Because he then quit on his team, knowing he has no qb, is 74 mil over the cap, and can't do shit in free agency.
He's not leaving for a better OFFER, he's just jumping ship
But.......
If he does sit out a year then that's more respectable than jumping teams.

He got some much deserved Karma after the second one.

You need look no further than all of the crybaby, classless douchebags on his team.

Alvin Kamara is a whiney baby.

Michael Thomas is a me first player, that ankle injury of his didn't heal because of how that season was going.

Marshon Lattimore mocked Justin Jefferson after injuring him.

Cameron Jordan is a giant piece of shit that makes an idiot out of himself after every playoff loss, by crying about the refs and then like an idiot, rube, cheering against the team that rightfully beat them.

This isn't even mentioning the scumbag bounty hunters that he used to get his one Super Bowl.

Usually when a coach is a good coach. It is coupled with being an Asshole.

I would take an Asshole top tier coach over a nice guy average coach anyday!

Most good coaches are assholes. The only "Nice" guy that I can think of off the top of my head that ever won the big one is Dungy.

But being a complete punk, embarrassing the team and letting it trickle down to your players is a different issue. Belichick benched Welker for a series for making foot fetish jokes about Rex Ryan.

I'm not even convinced that Payton is all that good of a coach. I think he was a big product of getting lucky enough to land Brees.

well a HOF QB will always help a coach Look good. That includes Belichick.

I think Andy Reid could be one more you add to the Dungy list, but again he has what will be a HOF QB to help make him look good.
but you are right. the Dungy List would be a very short list.

Dick Vermeil definitely
Dont think Landry would land on a nice guy list. With his players. High marks in respect from them, not so much on being a nice guy.
Dont know enough about Stram to comment.

I really disliked his 'china doll' routine with injured players. Not clever, not funny, and not motivational.

It's already tarnished, bountygate! This guy is the definition of overrated, sure he wins but in 15 seasons his team has only won more than 1 playoff game, once in the bountygate season.
He didn't win that Superbowl. Hurricane Katrina did.

I wonder what the Saints will want in compensation for him--they aren't likely to just let him coach in SD without getting something for him since he's still under contract. On the other hand, I think the Chargers could be happy to ship some draft picks to Nola in order to land him.
