I just don't get it. The league acknowledged something wasn't right with the hit, hence the phone call.

That means something was not right.

That means it must not have been clean.

Based on my past experience watching the NHL, a team that feels slighted or disrespected by an opponent will look to repay they favor.

It's an eye for an eye. Chara probably didn't have any intent to hurt Pacioretty, but that probably won't factor into their logic.

I could be wrong, but based on years of watching the NHL, teams/players/organizations don't forget stuff like this.

The larger issue here is the NHL somehow not punishing a player for a dangerous hit. It's a broken record at this point, but it just keeps on spinnin'.

Its the NHL's fault for having objects like that along the boards. They could easily make that area more safe.

I totally agree with that, as well. Just one more example of their general ineptitude on very basic principles.

When it comes to basic player safety, the NHL should have a standard for all arenas to follow when it comes to the placement of the glass and support stanchions in and around the bench.
