Roberts costs almost exactly the same as Lauvao. Explain how one is cheap and the other is not.

Lauvao is a starter.

Roberts is going to be a "maybe" starter/slot.

Giants sign G/OT Geoff Schwartz (4 years, $16.8M; $6.2M guaranteed): B Grade
While the Redskins and Bills were offering scrubs like Shawn Lauvao and Chris Williams around $5 million guaranteed, the Giants managed to ink a far superior player at the same position for just a bit more.

Geoff Schwartz missed all of 2011 with a hip injury. He didn't start in the first half of this past season, but was dominant in the second half. Thus, the money is right for him.

The plan for Schwartz is to have him play right tackle, while Justin Pugh moves to the blind side. If William Beatty can somehow make it back from his injury, either Pugh or Schwartz will slide inside and fill the void at guard.

Why couldn't we get this guy. It was for the same money. doesn't make sense.

Show me where the coaches didn't want him back at what price. How much did they offer him? You have no idea.

I already posted the link what the fans said. IN that article the coaches did want him back but at a CHEAP price. Schwartz was for the same money how can you even argue this?

Maybe it's because he missed the entire 2011 season with a hip injury. Maybe it's because he wasn't even a starter for half this last season.

Wow...ESPN's grades mean everything compared to actual NFL personnel men.

Like the Roberts deal but I'm not a huge fan of the lauvao deal.

I agree with you ehb. How could anyone be a fan of the lauvao deal when Schwartz just signed for the same money.

How could you not like the deal? We got a proven starting G for $4M/yr. Do you know what we pay Chester and he was never a starter in Baltimore. He gets over $6M/yr. Lauvao at $4M is a very good deal.

He's not a good starting guard though based on what I've seen. Chester is overpaid and bad but I dint feel like that justifies this signing.
