Our 3rd Rd pick should afford that opportunity.

I take two things from Hobson saying Braxton is too raw to draft:

1. The Bengals won't draft him
2. Braxton Miller will be rookie of the year

PFF had some nice things to say about him...

Ohio State WR Braxton Miller is "a joy to watch in space," writes Pro Football Focus' Gordon McGuiness.
On only 26 receptions last year, Miller broke eight tackles and juked himself free of defenders who didn't even have a chance to touch him first. Despite his obvious talent, PFF only sees Miller as a third-rounder and the No. 13 receiver in the class. "With Miller there is a lot of projection, especially considering he played just one year at wide receiver in college after moving over from quarterback," McGuiness wrote. "He is raw as a prospect, and his route running needs a lot of work, something you notice when you watch him take far too long to make a cut on a route."

He's raw. There is no doubt. But on a team that will work to get him the ball, he's going to be a play-maker. I think the issue with being here is that your offense can't be geared towards just getting that guy the ball. Dalton has to be free to spread it around, and if Miller can't play WR in a complete sense, it could hurt the offense. Yeah, he'll have the big play here and there, but not the right fit at this time.

The offense just won't use him the way he'll need to be used to be successful, and I'm not so sure that it wouldn't end up hurting the offense some if they did.

But if he's somehow there in round 2....I think it's worth a shot.

Hobs doesn't always make such big declarations.... The fact that he is doing it with Miller does make me think that he has some insider info that the team doesn't like him. Or maybe it's misdirection from the team to throw team off the trail... Or maybe Hobs wants to write the "I'm shocked we took him - Don't we think outside the box!" article after the draft.

In other words, it's March - Nobody knows anything about the draft.

You know that the Bengals don't misdirect. Next to Cleveland, they are probably the most transparent team when it comes to the draft. No sleight of hand from Mike Brown (except when it comes to injuries).

he will end up being a Steeler and burning us for more TDs than any other WR in the history of Bengals football.

Bust....as far as the Bengals are concerned. He's a major project as a Blocker and Route-runner, too. His rookie contract will be over before he figures these things out, if he figures them out. He'd make a great Punt Returner.

You're probably right.... The Steelers already have 4 Buckeyes. Why not add to the list?

if a player can be dangerous, that's the team that will figure out how to use him.

I like Michael Thomas with the 24th pick. I think he will be a star
