FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Braves have fired general manager Frank Wren.
David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported early Monday morning that the club was leaning this way, and the hammer came down quickly. Wren had a good amount of overall success in his seven years as Atlanta's general manager, but somebody had to take the fall for this year's late-season collapse and it'll be Wren instead of manager Fredi Gonzalez. John Hart will take over as interim GM in Atlanta and retired skipper Bobby Cox will help lead the search for a permanent replacement. The last GM fired from the Braves was John Mullen, the man who signed Hank Aaron. It's not an organization that likes to make drastic off-the-field changes.
We should of got rid of Gonzalez too. The new GM needs to Cut Upton as his first move and sign The other Upton to a long term deal. We need hitters that hit for average and make consistent contact in our lineup, Guys that can move a leadoff double over to 3rd with a simple ground ball to the right side of the field, not guys who K every plate appearance.
