Class dismissed fellas. If you want to learn how to tactically troll Dirt and have him do the unthinakable, I charge by the hour. Be back later.

Nice job, but you never got him to ALLCAPS. I'll give you a B.

Jeter has 3305 hits, which trails Rose by over 900...he would need to average 150 hits per year, for 6 years,,,to end up close at age 45.

There's your simple math...a 39 year old SS with a bum wheel would need to AVERAGE 150 hits per year to threaten Rose.

No...he's got zero chance...never had a chance...no one outside your fanbase thinks it's even remotely plausible he "could if he wanted to"

"Jeter woulda had da most hits in MLB histry if he wantid too"

~ Jeters HOF plaque in cooperstown

Now confirmed I'm right

Thanks Down

Yeah

That's what you said or even implied

Ignore the 300 other factors I stated why it would never happen

It would never happen because he won't/wouldn't hold up....

Using your logic, and he "matched rose's production from age 40-45" he'd still end up considerably short.

Rose averaged about 115 hits per year over those ages...and he's far an away an exception, not a rule.

A lot of the conversation Ox was referencing was prior to the Jeter injury in 2012

That's when I made the statement about him limping out there till 45

Now obviously, different set of circumstances

Even give him this year as a redo...to play the hypothetical game...he'd have 7 years...and need 900 hits...about 130 his a year for a player that was already showing signs of slowing down, from ages 39-45? You're claiming something would be "easy" that literally has never happened in the history of baseball....

"jeter is a team guy"

Salvador Perez had the first hit in an ASG for the KC Royals since 1989

Horrible, absolutely one of the more embarrassing facts I could imagine

"easy" is a stretch

As is "showing signs of decline" for the guy that literally was #1 in hits in the league last season, and hits is all we are talking about

Hypo. He's at 3500 minimum after a healthy 2013

That leaves him at 700-800 short?

Stretching him to 45 years old, he'd need to average about 125 a season?

thats one canadians have been trying to change for at least a decade. our receptionist is canadian, from PEI...she said "canuck" is a canadian version of "knee grow".

I've never heard a whisper they are trying to get it changed...certainly not getting 1% the play the Redskins are...also never really heard it considered as offensive as nagger...it's not really derogatory, except that not all Canadians are Canucks...French Canadians are canucks...Canadians of English or Dutch decent are the only ones "offended" by it..

They could be the fucking Vancouver Wops and Greasers and it wouldn't get as much play as the Redskins...these are the times we live in Rock...and it's fucking lame...

In his book, "Safire's Political Dictionary," Martin's colleague William Safire noted that the Oxford English Dictionary labels it “in U.S. usage, generally derogatory” but then he quoted from a 1977 letter to him from then Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau:
As with all slang, and especially that of nationality, the implications of the word vary a great deal according to the context and the intent of the speaker or writer….Many Canadians feel [“Canuck”] refers to all Canadians, some believe it is Eastern Canadians, other that it is French Canadians, while the majority have rarely heard it used in any context…..Whether or not you committed an ethnic slur (in using it) would depend entirely on the way the word was used…..To me, a slang term applied to a nationality by a person of a different nationality could, under certain conditions, be construed as a slur.

In 2008, the Edmonton Sun reported:
"Canuck, that very same term of endearment Canadians use now," was used by racist southern Americans to insult French Canadians with dark skins, said Stefan Dollinger, editor in chief of [ame="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0771519761/joeclark-20"]Dictionary of Canadianisms on Historical Principles[/ame]. Over time, we gave the word Canuck a totally different spin and it now refers to any Canadian, he said.

"In the U.S. some people still use Canuck as a slur," said Dollinger, who is also the director of the University of British Columbia's Canadian English lab.

It was fraudulent before Rock inadvertently exposed it.

The Patriots cheated. The Red Sox cheated. JFK cheated.

It's a region of idiots and cheaters.

We're in the midst of another board toppling. This time it's FanNation. They are like the bastard sons of ESPN tolls from reform school.

I never even bothered to look at FanNation until today. What a crappy looking forum.

"easy" is a stretch

No...it's a fucking fairy tale...

As is "showing signs of decline" for the guy that literally was #1 in hits in the league last season, and hits is all we are talking about

one anomolous season surrounded by years of declining numbers and now injury riddled season(s)...

This is how they all go out...Rivera's an obvious exception (thus my level of suspect)...99.99999% of all guys that play this game into their late 30's or 40's...end up complete shells of their former selves...

yankee fans concluding the exception is an "easy" given? Is the exact point Ox was making...
