Dirtiest player in the game. A head hunting ass clown. Always has been, always will be. Dude should be the highest fined player in the league. He was an embarrassment to me, personally, when on the Bears for which was thankfully for only one season. I like big hits as much as the next guy, but this guy is reckless on a consistent basis. I never saw him just, "make a tackle" while with the Bears, always head hunting. He is literally the WORST example of how to tackle, if yer trying to teach yer kids ftr.

Totally agree...thought this when he speared Lacy and Starks in our game, and thought the same when he head-hunted Alshon and a couple other guys today. Dude should be suspended for multiple games.

He had those two h2h vs. Green Bay and barely drew a sneeze from Goodell. That was the same week Suh earned 100k for his block on that fat Viking I believe. Merriweather should be tossed from the league. He can't play the game and never could.

good win today for ya 46

but ya...BW is just dangerous. He's going to end someone's career, if not his own.

Definitely should be held to at least the same "standard". I think BW is a worse example by a long shot.

He is an idiot and I hate that he is on the team. It was a arm burner of a game, for sure. How is Cutler? I couldn't even tell what really happened. I had music on and the game muted.

Good game. Hope he is OK.

I'm reading season ending injury, but it's not confirmed yet and won't be until tomorrow (MRI).

Bears Packers rivalry aside....THAT GUY IS A COMPLETE AND UTTER DISGRACE TO THE GAME. NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO BE ON THE SAME FIELD WITH HIM.

Eh... whatever.

Only way he knows, and then all of these rules got put in place. It's too late to really adjust the whole way you play.

The only thing that pissed me off today was when he had that BLATANTLY obvious one on Marshall in the end zone on the last TD drive, and then him and D-Hall proceeded to flip out and scream at the refs.

Like, seriously? That hit would have been illegal in the freaking 80's. lol, Such a blatant crown of the helmet into the head. That was illegal long before this new wave of concussion awareness.

He almost gave Jeffery and Marshall concussions today.

For Cutler? You have a link?

All I can find is that "it looks serious" or "out for foreseeable future". My guess is a torn groin. I suppose the degree of it will determine the length of recovery.

I saw his foot stay planted when he was being twisted down. Saw foot stick, ankle, knee and hip stay locked together so it put all the pressure on the groin. It was a really odd look since it looked like he went down soft and was just holding his hip.

any groin is gonna be 6-8 weeks.

As far as Merriweather, he should have been fined twice in the green bay game, he should be fined twice for this game. Any multiple occurrence in a game should be definite suspension. Glad he is off our team.

Sorry, but that is total bullshit. His antics wouldn't have been accepted in the 80's either. Spearing has always been against the rules.

I agree completely. Now, I get that the rules in place today really compromise the defender, but what Merriweather did would have been flagged for spearing back then, too.

The Brandon Merriweather tackling form: Tuck your arms into your chest and torpedo your helmet into their facemask.

Brandon Merriweather will always be an asshole and he shouldn't be in the league, and at least he has been suspended for two games.

I don't like him and I didn't like him when he was a Patriot.

Also if some guys can change how they play then he can as well, so I don't buy the whole excuse that this is the only way he knows how to play.

Um, Gary Fencik and Doug Plank made a career in Chicago spearing. Not sure what you mean by "back then". Though it was probably more the 70's they played in than the 80's, but I think one of them, Fencik made it into the 80's.
