im not saying get rid of Fuller this year. Would The Cb at #16 be his replacement next year b/c he is a FA?

How do you figure that? If Branch is drafted, he would take over McCains role. McCain was on the field alot last year. 4-2-5 was played last year. Reports are saying he is a slot CB/S hybrid type player.

If they plan on drafting Branch n playing him in the slot. I hope his 4.58 that he ran in the combine is not an accurate measure of his speed.

for the record, I don't want Branch at 16 or 47 because i really believe there will be better fits still on board.
I still think he's gone near the bottom of the 1st round. A saw an interesting statement, that Porter also isn't a good fit.
Porter - William Jackson? Aren't we asking a man coverage guy to start playing zone?
However because of need/pedigree Porter seems like the way to go. i'm just throwing that out there, i haven't seen porter clips in zone so i dont know.

i made the statement he might not be a good fit for us in our defense . that being said he will be a rookie and you can mold him into being any type of cb you want with good coaching . if he were at 16 and there wasnt any better value i would pull the trigger on him and would be happy about it

i dont think we need to spend a 1st round pick to replace mccain and curl should be a guy we resign . to mee its a bad move at 16 when there are better options on the board at 16

I agree. Maybe this is me, but McCain was terrible anytime in single high, really any position he seemed to be a liability. Had a handful of good plays but disappointing

i agree Branch is rich at #16 but if he slides to #47 we would have to consider him. Kipers mock had him 2nd round

that pick needs to be earmarked for IOL . i think curl , butler and forrest with reeves is a strong safety unit . i think if you go CB in round 1 then slot CB is addressed . the o/line isnt done and replacing mediocre with mediocre doesnt get it done . center has huge potential for it being an achilles heel and LG is out there as well

It depends on what we do at #16 if we do select Branch in the 2nd round. I agree. But If we get a top 3 LT or they go with the Florida OG at 16, Branch should be in play if he is there.
