This stuff is being discussed on Boston Sports Tonight, Early Edition, and every sports news outlet in New England. Tom Curran said it best last night....."Everyone is expressing their opinion as if it's fact. Adam Shefter rarely gives an opinion, so he must have some reliable information."

Then Curran dropped a bomb of sorts. He said that the Patriots will let Tom Brady walk. Don Yee has shown no interest in discussing a contract for Brady and BB and the Krafts have decided not to pursue it any further. Apparently they don't feel that Brady will get a mega offer and will re-sign with the Patriots after testing the market. It's a gamble, but they're willing to let it work itself out. It appears that they don't think Brady will want to start all over again at 43 in a new place with a completely new team and possibly an entirely new offensive scheme.

That puts the Brady trade possibility to bed. If Curran got that info from the Patriots then the future of the Patriots is being considered without Tom Brady after this season.

Bert Breer chimed in with his question or thought process....."The San Diego Chargers can't sell tickets for the new stadium opening next year. Would they fire their new head coach, offer the job to Josh McDaniel if he could Brady to the Chargers and pay Brady a load of cash? Brady would certainly sell tickets in Southern California and Josh would get redemption for the Colts fiasco.

Almost every media talking head from the radio to the television seem to believe that all of this was started within the Patriots organization. And it was started to let Brady knoiw that future plans are being considered without him.

If any of this is true then Schefter's information came from the Brady side as a way show he's willing to move on... I don't care either way until "something happens". Until then it's just smoke from everyone.

I mildly disagree. I think there are some scenarios where he might. First, he has a full career here. Maybe he liked the way Joe M's second career looked and feels he could do something similar. That never tarnished the association between him and the 49'ers.

Again, I lean toward your view but can see other slim possibilities. Let's face one thing: Schefter got his imformation somewhere and there are many (not me) who believe it's from a credible source.

A "credible source" of "incredible crap" IMHO.....

Shefter is 'anal' about being correct with anything he reports. As someone said the other night, "Adam Shefter is so well connected that when there's a power failure, his lights don't go out." The interesting thing is that Shefter will often make a report and hint as to what's happening without directly saying it. That way he protects his source for the next nugget.

Curran, on the other hand, gets everything factual from inside the locker room or from the Krafts but also will report rumors from his media contacts on other teams.

If either of these guys makes a report and refuses to alter it, change it or deny he said it, then we can be pretty sure it's coming from a 'credible' source and something is happening.

After the other night, I think Curran got something from the Krafts and has run with it. I don't listen to Podcasts, (I don't know how) but Curran often will give a lot of details about his reports on those. He supposedly has two Podcasts during the week that have huge national following.

According to Curran both Brady and Gronk were supposed to be gone last year because they hated BB. Remember?

Every Brady possible trade scenario is going to get lambasted by Pats fans, but here's a thought:

Brady to Indy for Brissett, a 2020 #1, and 2021 #2, and ill throw in 2022 #3

Indy would not give up that much for Brady. Also why would the Patriots do this when they currently sit 7-0.

If that ever happened as an option I could maybe see BB doing it after this season. MAYBE

Indy does it cause they figure they're already a playoff team, maybe Brady gets them a SB in the next 2 years.

Patriots do it because Brissett actually is looking like a pretty good QB, he's still young, and has familiarity with BB and New Englands system and vica versa.

Oh now you want links? Fuck off. Do your own HOMEWORK

You make a statement with nothing else. Not even where you heard something or read it. You expect people to believe you??? You claim that Shefter did something and give nothing more........Sorry, I'm not going to spend time looking for something that just might not be out there.

You ain't big enough or good enough to make me do anything. Just stay hidden behind your keyboard in your mom's cellar.

Lol. I gave the man’s name. You could easily find what Schefter wrote if you were so inclined. I fucking love the audacity of the king of pulling bullshit out of the ether and then getting bent when people ask him for substantiation, asking for substantiation of something that was posted online this morning for the world to see. And then trying to insult me. Adorbs.

BB makes mistakes and while he thinks he's always right, he sat Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl against the Eagles and it cost the team a ring.

Pure speculation.
Story goes that Butler was comatose at 4:00 AM when somebody dropped his carcas off at the hotel.
Had to be dragged to his room.
Did not come to for team meeting, had not come to for walk throughs, had not come to by the time the bus left for the stadium.
Yet somehow...he was going to save the game...???

I don't buy it.

Neither BB or MB has spoken about it which tells me MB know who was right and who was wrong.

Butler is playing like crap.
Butler had been sulking for some time.
Butler was too short to cover the Eagles very tall receivers.
We almost won it without him and we didn't lose because he sat.
We were outplayed and outcoached because we were not prepared for the RPO and could not adjust.

And he was probably still legally intoxicated.

What I would believe is that Tom is pissed at Bill for being so preoccupied with bringing in WR's when he has won with worse, as long as he has an OL to keep him clean.

Schefter saod nothing of note, all he did was start some media drama based on the fact Tom is buying a new house. BFD It's not Tom's first house buy. Schefter had nothing in a blow game so he speculated, he's a drama whore.

And again fuck Brady now is not the time to become a drama queen this deep into your career. He knows how shit works in NE if he wants out okay thanks for the memories.

I like what Bruschi said. "He knows that BB has to move on from him and Tom wanted control of that situation". That would explain the current contract if so it's both sides agreeing that 1. The franchise may be ready to move on. 2. The franchise and Tom out of respect for all Tom has given will allow Tom to have control of that.
