Day to Day
This stuff is being discussed on Boston Sports Tonight, Early Edition, and every sports news outlet in New England. Tom Curran said it best last night....."Everyone is expressing their opinion as if it's fact. Adam Shefter rarely gives an opinion, so he must have some reliable information."
Then Curran dropped a bomb of sorts. He said that the Patriots will let Tom Brady walk. Don Yee has shown no interest in discussing a contract for Brady and BB and the Krafts have decided not to pursue it any further. Apparently they don't feel that Brady will get a mega offer and will re-sign with the Patriots after testing the market. It's a gamble, but they're willing to let it work itself out. It appears that they don't think Brady will want to start all over again at 43 in a new place with a completely new team and possibly an entirely new offensive scheme.
That puts the Brady trade possibility to bed. If Curran got that info from the Patriots then the future of the Patriots is being considered without Tom Brady after this season.
Bert Breer chimed in with his question or thought process....."The San Diego Chargers can't sell tickets for the new stadium opening next year. Would they fire their new head coach, offer the job to Josh McDaniel if he could Brady to the Chargers and pay Brady a load of cash? Brady would certainly sell tickets in Southern California and Josh would get redemption for the Colts fiasco.
Almost every media talking head from the radio to the television seem to believe that all of this was started within the Patriots organization. And it was started to let Brady knoiw that future plans are being considered without him.
