According to CBS at the Patriots practice yesterday, 38 year old Tom Brady dropped back and then took off running, totally catching the Patriots defense by surprise as he ran 60 yards for a TD. While the defense would never have tackled him, Coach Bill Belichick tore into the defense for not being ready for the unexpected. It may have been one of the best learning tools of the camp. As BB has said numerous times....."Do Your Job", "don't try to make plays or do anyone else's job, just do your own job".

Going to be a long season for that defense. Hopefully they can put it together before it is too late.

Bend, but don't break. Middle of the pack in yards allowed, a little better in points allowed and another deep playoff run. Same as it ever was.

Man I wish we could go back to early 2000's. This bend don't break is so hard to watch. I think if healthy Pats will be as good as last year. Better front 7, Butler I think will surprise. He'll get beat a few times but hey so did Revis. That other side scares me. Hope one of the picks up can hold their own? Ryan is not the answer. It will help not having Browner continuing drives for other teams.

It has been "bend, but don't break" since BB showed up. The early 2000 teams were exceptional at keeping the opponents out of the end zone for sure, but he has never been a "big pressure on every play" kinda guy.

They'll be fine, their schedule is tit.

I much more enjoyed watching 2000-2004, lots more pressure on other team QBs. Granted the past 10 years the team hasn't been structured that way. If the DBs can hold their own we may be seeing a similar version. One can only hope.
