When I moved to Anaheim as a kid, there were a lot of Mexican kids in my class who did not read or write English.
Moving from Boston, I did not know 3 words in Spanish.
They cheated off me and somehow I got an A in Spanish......

That's basically my story, but you being in Anaheim meant you were in a nicer area. I grew up in La Puente.

We were more poor than our illegal alien neighbors. I remember the neighborhood well. Most would not call it "nice" I remember it as being very friendly. We all played together - all nationalities and races. It was just one of the big advantages of growing up poor.....
