Per Rotoworld:

Sam Bradford told teammate Brian Quick he was "ok" after departing Saturday's preseason game with a left knee injury.
"I was a little nervous about it, but everything is all right," Quick assured. "Sam told me that he is ok." Quick should hardly be considered gospel on the matter of his quarterback's knee, but it's another encouraging sign that Bradford has avoided serious injury. Coach Jeff Fisher speculated it was a mere hyperextension before saying he was "very optimistic" Bradford would make a quick return. A Sunday MRI will provide final word.

I also saw those tweets last night. I think he's fine. Just wanted to be careful. Plus Long had some major rust to knock off. Probably a good idea to play long next preseason as well before you put your 50mil investment back on the field

I agree with playing Long to get the rust off, but as "fragile" as Sam seems to be how do we feel comfortable about putting him back in under fire again?

Per the twitter of Adam Schefter

"Despite Rams QB Sam Bradford thinking his ACL was intact from initial testing, there is real concern that it is not and it could be torn."

If true, I'd give a 2nd for Kirk Cousins.

As Mutigers1fan said:

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Rams have "real concern" Sam Bradford re-tore his left ACL in Saturday's preseason game.
Initial tests suggested the ligament was intact, but there is now "real concern that it is not," Schefter reports. Schefter and colleague Chris Mortensen are tight with Jeff Fisher, so we'd take anything they say about the Rams quite seriously. If Bradford is indeed lost for the year, the Rams would turn to Shaun Hill as their starting quarterback and continue to ride the run game. :bawling:

Yea, Mutigers and Raminator, that injury looked more extensive than everyone wanted to believe. It is probably more severe than originally anticipated. If that is the case, they should go with Austin Davis since the year is going to be potentially a wash with this injury.

If Bradford's ACL is done, I think the Rams are going to have to acknowledge the Bradford experiment is toast and begin to looking the next franchise QB. I am not exactly throwing in the towel just yet but we are close and it is sort of like Pead. Enough becomes enough and it is time to move along and save some cash.

Why?

Um

Yeah why?

It does look like Bradford can't stay healthy enough to play football, though

Rams have nothing to gain by saying they felt pretty good about it...Seems Schefter is the only place I've heard talk about major concern, especially since he was walking around in the clubhouse sans limp from what i read...

Thanks Caliskinsfan. I know you guys know. We shall see Mikey. Schefter can be a drama queen sometimes. I am sure we will know better as the week goes on.

I've been saying Kirk Cousins was the 2nd best QB in that class since about the time of his last game at Michigan St. He may be able to be gotten for less (a 3rd) but I'd go as high as a 2nd.

Football Outsiders had him as a bottom 5 QB last year. Cousins is a good backup who could flash as a starter. Like Shaun Hill.

I'd do something silly like a 7th for Michael Vick or Matt Hasselbeck if I really thought Hill was bad.

This may actually happen Mutigers. Second or third, it is a good trade because Cousins is solid. He certainly is better than Clemens and Hill. But Davis may be just as good with the ones. WE shall see.

I have to disagree here. Cousins Yards Per Attempt last year was 5.5. Thats Blaine Gabbert level of QB play. Even Bradford in his worst years was averaging 6 yards per attempt.

O.K. Clayton. Then don't trade for him and go with Davis, Hill, and Gilbert. That's doable as well. Who knows, if we go with Davis, we may have a Kurt Warner happening. Yikes!!

This is a disaster, hopefully it clears up ASAP! If he's out for season we might need to do something about our QB situation.
