Good article but the key was he got the HC wrong. The author was quoted as saying the HC of the Niners was John not Jim.

Think that's why the Niners aren't trading for him. Freeman is the future in TB and Johnson will be looking for a starting gig so why give up a pick or player when you can just sign him after the year? Just ride it out this year.
