Only had $25 in cash on me, so I just picked up Wild Turkey 101 today and will give it a go when I get home.

Our governor just announced there will be an increase in the liquor tax coming up soon (state run liquor stores), but didn't give any specifics on how much or exactly when it will occur. Figured I may make some more purchases right before it goes up to have on hand. Definitely want to try 4 Roses, Knob Creek, and a couple other suggestions here.

Yeah...stock up. Maryland jacked up their rate about two years ago, and I wish I had more disposable income at the time.

Knob Creek is solid. Four Roses is better. For my money, Willett Pot Still is the best dollar for dollar bourbon out there. I keep the Evan Williams single barrel and Buffalo Trace around as my personal rails.

Brought home 4 Roses Single Barrel for $38+. Took a huge gulp by accident on my first taste and took me a second to recover from the burn. Each successive SIP has been very good. I'm certainly not an expert palate, so I'll leave the tasting notes up to others. It is good and I look forward to the next couple weeks to finish the bottle.

Hadn't mentioned it before because last I heard it was only being distributed in CO, but I saw it on the shelf up here the other day, so check out Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey if you can. It's priced in the $70-80 range, similar to Blantons, but I really like it.

I got a bottle when I toured the distillery a few years ago and I'm sipping on a glass now. Batch 71. Big butterscotch flavors and a nice sweetness overall.

My buddy brought his bottle of Barrel Strength 4Roses to a beer tasting we had last weekend and damn, that stuff was hot! He puts it down like a champ but it was killin me.

No way I'd give up the scratch that bottle sell for.

Every sip after that first one was fine with me. I just gulped that one and wasn't really 'ready'. The rest of the bottle was great.

On that Dewar's 12 yr right now. Sam's had the special gift set for about 27 bucks for the fifth with two very nice glasses. It's very smooth, easily superior to some of the more well known brands in the same price range.

I bought my boss some for Christmas and he loved it too.

BourbonEnthusiast.com ? Bourbon Reviews ? Booker's

Bookers

sorry it wuold help if i posted the product
I had previously tried the Regular Booker's and it is very good, however my oldest son bought me a bottle of this "True Barrel" that you posted and it is awesome. My batch is 7 years, 5 monhs old and 127.9 proof and it is incredibly smooth for something that powerful.

I ended up at the liquor store store for something else a week ago and decided to see how much it costs. 750ml is $50 here in NH so it won't be my go to bourbon. It will be something I treat myself to on occasion though.

I think we must have got the same batch, because I also have the 7yr 5 mos and 127.9 abv. I think it runs about $55 per 750ml here.
