I think he made the right decision and will love Chicago. I also think this accelerates the demand for the Cubs winning.

When Boston decided to low ball Lester, and then trade him, I knew he would never be back.

I like where he is going and it feels good/strange to be excited about the Cubs future.

HOLY COW!

I think for all parties this is the right move. Making in essence $26M per year, he will need to perform as such. I suspect the Cubs fans might be kinder too him than Sox fans, especially as they are going all in for a championship.

No question Henry bungled this one

Only $20 million dollars off. Go Ownership, really did this one well!

Lester isn't worth what he got but the Sox could have gotten him for a lot less!

I agree , Chicago should be a good place for him and the Cubs are expected to do something NOW. Gonna be interesting to see how the Cubbies handle the expectations.

???????

Lester is revered in Boston. I have never heard or read anything to the contrary.

Welp, I for one am happy that the AL East has one less ace.

Of course, I wish my team had one to begin with...

I don't think Henry had anything to do with it. He's just the majority owner. He basically does whatever Lucchino asks him to do... I'm sure Lucky and Cherington had many heated discussions about Lester original extension offer...

Epstein and Hoyer had an easy job convincing him to come to the NL. I think we'll see a few years very similar to his 2014 numbers...

What's next for Boston and the Cubs? Does Boston look to Scherzer now? Do the Cubs add another starter?

Rex, my point is that in the first few years he will pitch like an ace, but in the final few years probably not. Like CC, patience runs out when your paying that level for a pitcher, and if Lester goes back to a 2012 pitcher after the deal, it would get ugly
